Kauany Beatriz de Sá Silva allegedly moved R$ 20 million in laundering scheme
Police investigations in Mato Grosso, Brazil, have revealed that Kauany Beatriz de Sá Silva, the 20-year-old daughter of Angélica Saraiva de Sá (known as “Angeliquinha”), moved approximately R$ 20 million over a two-year period despite having no compatible declared income.
According to Victor Hugo Caetano de Freitas, a delegate from the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Organized Crime (Draco), the funds were allegedly laundered through three shell companies, including Kauany Shoes Boutique and Essenza Beauty studio in Alta Floresta. Investigators believe online gambling platforms were used to disguise the origin of the money.
The investigation detailed a specific pattern where the daughter would lose money on betting platforms and her mother would replenish the funds, allowing her to continue playing. This cycle was allegedly used to circulate criminal proceeds. Authorities noted that the foreign administration of many gambling platforms complicates the process of accessing detailed transaction data.
