Kaufland and Shein expand marketplace operations in Spain

Kaufland, the German retail group associated with Lidl, has launched its digital marketplace in Spain. This marks the company's entry into its ninth European market. Unlike its physical presence in other regions, the Spanish launch is exclusively digital, acting as an intermediary between over 3,100 online merchants and consumers. The platform offers more than 10 million products across 6,400 categories, including electronics, home goods, fashion, and food.

Simultaneously, Shein has activated a cooperative logistics service in Spain to facilitate cross-border trade within Europe. This program allows Spanish marketplace sellers to dispatch orders to Germany, France, Italy, and Portugal using integrated transport options. Partnering with operators such as GLS, FedEx, and CTT, the initiative aims to reduce the logistical burden on small businesses by providing negotiated shipping rates and centralized management for collections and returns.
