Kaufland Bulgaria customers donate 20,000 euros to flood relief

Kaufland Bulgaria customers have donated 20,000 euros to the Bulgarian Red Cross through a recycling initiative. Over the past 12 months, customers utilized recycling stations to return PET bottles and aluminum cans, opting to donate their 2-cent eco-vouchers to the charity instead of using them for shopping.

The funds are designated for the Bulgarian Red Cross's disaster relief fund and to support field teams. A portion of the donation will specifically assist those affected by devastating flooding in the village of Strumyani. Kaufland Bulgaria CEO Ivan Chernev noted that the initiative allows customers to support both the environment and citizens in need. The donation was officially received by Dr. Sofia Stoimenova, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
