Kaufland Bulgaria sources over 96% of fresh herbs from local producers
More than 96% of the fresh herbs sold in Kaufland Bulgaria’s stores are produced domestically. The retailer plans to deliver over 2.7 million units of Bulgarian fresh herbs in 2026, representing a rise of more than 10% compared with 2025.
The principal suppliers are Agro Lux 2014 and Bul Fruit, family farms in the village of Yagodovo, Plovdiv region. They have worked with Kaufland for seven years under a contracted‑purchase programme that allows them to expand cultivation to over 250 decares. In the previous year the farms supplied more than 800 000 units, and the partnership aims to provide over 1.7 million kg of produce in 2026. Angel Dimitrov of Bul Fruit said the collaboration means the growers “live and work with Kaufland every day,” and the herbs are sold under Kaufland’s own “Brey!” label.
