Kaufland reduces prices on over 1,000 products in Slovakia

Kaufland Slovakia has announced a long-term price reduction on more than 1,000 products starting September 3. The initiative aims to assist household budgets during a month typically characterized by increased expenses due to the start of the school year and various seasonal costs.

The price cuts span multiple categories, including bakery items, meats, cheeses, ham, long-life foods, beverages, water, sweets, and drugstore products. Richard Bendík, Director of Purchasing and Marketing for Kaufland Slovakia, stated that the company selected popular products to help customers save on regular, everyday purchases.

Data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic indicates that in 2025, Slovak households spent an average of 112 euros per person monthly on food and non-alcoholic beverages. These costs, combined with housing and energy, accounted for approximately 46 percent of total household consumer spending. Additionally, National Bank of Slovakia data from May 2026 showed that 87 percent of Slovaks identify food and beverage prices as a primary economic indicator they monitor closely.
