Kaufland to shift weekly promotional start from Thursday to Monday
Kaufland is restructuring its weekly promotional cycle, moving the start of its offers from Thursday to Monday, effective October 12, 2026. This change aims to align the retailer with the shopping habits of customers and the promotional rhythms of competitors like Lidl and Aldi.
The new structure will be divided into three segments: regular weekly offers running from Monday to Saturday, additional promotional deals from Thursday to Saturday, and specific offers from Friday to Saturday designed for large or weekend shopping trips.
This shift addresses a discrepancy introduced earlier in 2026, when Kaufland began delivering promotional brochures on weekends. Previously, customers could view deals in advance but had to wait until Thursday to purchase them. Under the new system, the advertised weekly offers will be available immediately at the start of the week. Marketing Director Michael Lüttgen stated the move is intended to better serve customers who prefer to complete their weekly shopping early in the week.
