Amitabh Bachchan's KBC Season 18 Launches on August 10, 2026

Sony Pictures Networks India announced that the 18th season of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) will premiere on 10 August 2026 at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. The new edition, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, introduces the theme “Sochna Padega”, emphasizing applied thinking over simple recall in an era where answers are instantly searchable.

Three promotional videos released by the channel feature Bachchan explaining the change: contestants must now think before answering, as “answers are everywhere, even in your pocket”. The promos also reference the impact of AI and the need for adaptive reasoning. Sony has partnered with Google India to integrate the Gemini generative‑AI assistant into the show’s registration, preparation, and broadcast stages, marking the first native AI integration in an Indian reality format.

The season will run Monday‑to‑Friday, continuing KBC’s long‑standing format of rewarding knowledge combined with life‑changing stories, while shifting the focus toward decision‑making and analytical skills.
