Kaunas hosts ‘Culture Front’ exhibition on Kharkiv life

The city of Kaunas is hosting the ‘Culture Front’ exhibition on Laisvės alėja to commemorate the Day of Ukrainian Writers, Language, and Cultural Workers. The exhibition focuses on the daily lives of people in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, during the ongoing war.

Through photographs by Vasyl Holosnyi and personal testimonies from residents, the display illustrates how Kharkiv continues to function despite constant threats. Located only 30 kilometers from the front line, the city faces frequent air raids, with residents often spending up to 16 hours a day in shelters or the metro. The exhibition highlights how preserving language, traditions, and cultural heritage has become a fundamental form of resistance for the Ukrainian people.
