Kaunas hosts exhibitions on industrial heritage and young painting

Several art exhibitions are taking place in Kaunas, Lithuania. The Kaunas Painting Gallery is hosting a closing event for the exhibition ‘Keisti kailį. Kauno kailių pramonės palikimas’ (Changing the Fur. The Legacy of Kaunas Fur Industry). This event marks the conclusion of a cycle exploring the city's industrial past and the history of local factories such as ‘Kaspinas’, ‘Drobė’, ‘Inkaras’, and ‘Banga’.

Additionally, the ‘Muitinė’ gallery, part of the Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty, has opened the group exhibition ‘Jauna Kauno tapyba ‘26’ (Young Kaunas Painting ‘26’). This seventh iteration of the project features professional artists including Mantas Valentukonis, Sandra Kvilytė, and Lukas Marciulevičius, among others. The exhibition explores diverse visual languages and themes ranging from personal identity to social and cultural investigations. It will remain open until September 30.
