Kaunas hosts mass ride for Sustainable Mobility Week
As part of Sustainable Mobility Week, Kaunas held a mass ride event that temporarily replaced cars with bicycles, scooters, and other micro-mobility devices in the city center. More than 200 participants, including families, traveled from Independence Square along Mindaugas Gediminas Avenue toward the Nemunas riverbank.
The event aimed to promote sustainable transport alternatives and highlight that city streets are for all commuters. Kaunas Vice Mayor Andrius Palionis noted that the city is investing in infrastructure to support the growing number of residents choosing green transport for daily travel. The evening concluded at the Old Town pier with festivities and stand-up comedy performances.
