Kaunas invites nominations for 2026 sports awards

The city of Kaunas has opened the nomination process for the 2026 Kaunas Sports Awards, marking the tenth anniversary of the event. Residents are invited to submit candidates for top athletes, coaches, teams, sporting events, and rising stars by November 6.

Winners will be selected through a combination of public voting and a specialized sports commission. The ceremony will be held at the President Valdas Adamkus Athletics Arena, where laureates will receive statues and seven athletes will also receive 3,000 euro prizes. The tenth category, a lifetime achievement award, will be determined solely by the commission.
