Kaunas region expands cultural and sports infrastructure

Significant infrastructure and cultural developments are underway in the Kaunas region of Lithuania. In Garliava, plans have been announced for a new three-story cultural building to expand community and artistic activities. The facility, designed by Aplan, will include a multifunctional event hall, rehearsal spaces, and dance studios. This new center aims to alleviate the pressure on existing facilities that currently share space with the Kaunas district sports center.

Simultaneously, the Aleksotas district in Kaunas is undergoing major expansion. Construction is set to begin on a football and rugby arena on Europos Avenue, featuring artificial turf and spectator seating. This is part of a broader initiative to build four new sports complexes catering to various disciplines, including swimming and basketball. These projects are intended to support both professional athletes and local residents as the area continues to grow following the establishment of the ALEX Kaunas Innovation Park.
