Kaunas University of Technology champions student research at national conference

Docent Jurgita Dabulytė‑Bagdonavičienė of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) explains why participation in scientific research is essential for students, fostering critical thinking, independent problem‑solving and professional readiness. KTU organises the annual national student conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application,” which provides a platform for young researchers to present ideas, discuss findings and build collaborations.

The 2024 edition featured 34 presentations across two sections, attracting students from KTU, other Lithuanian universities and foreign institutions. Attendees included mathematics, physics, informatics, mechanics and other discipline students, with mathematics students contributing the most papers. The conference is increasingly international and is viewed as a key venue for academic exchange and professional growth.
