Kaunas Vilijampolė transport hub construction reaches halfway point

Construction of the Vilijampolė transport hub in Kaunas has reached its halfway point. The project, located near the Neries riverbank, includes the creation of two roundabout intersections and a new street under the P. Vileišio bridge to improve connectivity between Vilijampolė and the Old Town.

Work completed so far includes the installation of retaining walls and the organization of street drainage and rainwater collection systems. Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis stated that the city continues to prioritize road updates and new connections to create a safer and more attractive environment for residents.

Other ongoing infrastructure projects in Kaunas include asphalt laying on H. and O. Minkovskių streets, repairs to the M. K. Čiurlionio bridge, and paving work on Julijanavos street, which is expected to reopen to traffic this December.
