Kavač clan leaders pressured associates to assassinate Igor Krstović

Encrypted Sky ECC communications have revealed new details regarding an attempt to assassinate Igor Krstović, a leader of the Škaljari clan, in Zeti in January 2020. The messages show that Radoje Živković and Milan Vujotić, leaders of the Kavač clan, pressured their associates to complete the hit quickly.

Živković reportedly threatened to assign the task to others if the Stanišić brothers did not eliminate Krstović within a month. The messages also indicate dissatisfaction among the Kavač leadership because the Stanišić brothers engaged “subcontractors” for the job. Živković had suggested the hit was worth 150,000 to 200,000 euros, expressing frustration that the brothers involved others in the operation.

Following a new direction in the investigation by the Special State Prosecutor, Radoslav and Saša Stanišić were arrested. They are suspected of being part of the criminal group ordered by Vujotić and Živković to kill Krstović, who was wounded by at least 28 bullets during the attack. Other individuals, including Raška Džankić, Radmila Džankić, and Mersudin Čalaković, are also under suspicion for aiding the crime.
