Kavač clan members issued death threats to extort millions from Turkish citizen
Members of the Kavač criminal clan issued death threats and extortion demands against Turkish citizen Hakan Temelatan following a dispute over millions of euros. The conflict arose after funds intended for Ecuador allegedly ended up in Temelatan’s company accounts and were purportedly used for his private businesses and hotels.
Leaked communications reveal that clan leaders, including Radoje Zvicer and Ljubo Milović, threatened Temelatan with violence and death. Milović reportedly stated in a group chat that he would accept the promised installments in exchange for Temelatan’s life. Zvicer also used graphic threats, suggesting he would show Temelatan images of how he makes ‘kebab’ to intimidate him.
As the dispute escalated in late 2020, the criminal group attempted to seize Temelatan’s assets, including a hotel in Germany, apartments in Offenbach, a house in Limburg, luxury vehicles, and gold in Turkey. Temelatan had claimed that his funds were temporarily blocked due to money laundering investigations.
