Kavadarci and Yiwu establish sister-city relations

The Macedonian city of Kavadarci and the Chinese city of Yiwu have officially established sister-city relations through an online ceremony. This agreement aims to deepen economic and cultural ties between North Macedonia and China.

Key areas of potential cooperation include the export of Macedonian wines and agricultural products to the Chinese market, as well as collaboration in trade, logistics, e-commerce, and tourism. During the meeting, officials highlighted Yiwu's role as a global trade hub and its potential for expanding economic engagement with the Tikveš region.

Additionally, discussions touched upon travel facilitation. Following China's decision to allow 30-day visa-free stays for Macedonian citizens, representatives suggested that North Macedonia should consider reciprocal visa-free entry for Chinese citizens to further strengthen bilateral relations.
