Kavadarci court sentences two men for kidnapping and extortion
The Basic Court in Kavadarci has sentenced two men from the village of Koreshnica to six and four years in prison, respectively, for the kidnapping and robbery of a 21-year-old resident of Negotino.
The incident occurred in April when the defendants, identified as B.M. (37) and K.S. (30), abducted the victim from his home using a Mercedes vehicle. The perpetrators reportedly used a pistol and a knife to threaten the victim, placed black bags over his head to blindfold him, and drove him toward Demir Kapija. During the abduction, the victim was physically assaulted and his mobile phone was discarded.
According to prosecutors, the motive was to coerce the victim into filming a false confession claiming he had raped the wife of the first defendant. During the trial, the defendants admitted to the crime and expressed regret. A psychiatric evaluation noted that the first defendant, B.M., acted with significantly diminished responsibility due to chronic psychosis, paranoia, and pathological jealousy, leading to adjustments in his specific charges. Both men remain in custody pending the finality of the verdict.
