Kavadarci hit by severe storms and heavy rainfall

Severe weather characterized by heavy rain, strong winds, and hail struck Kavadarci and surrounding areas in North Macedonia. The storm caused localized disruptions, including fallen trees on regional roads connecting Kavadarci to Drenovo and Negotino, approximately ten flooded basements, and defects in electrical and telecommunications infrastructure.

Local authorities in Kavadarci mobilized emergency services, including hygiene, greenery, and water/sewerage teams, to clear debris and manage drainage. While no injuries or major structural damage to public infrastructure were reported, the municipality remains on alert as the unstable weather system moves toward Negotino. The Hydrometeorological Service of Macedonia warned of continued instability across various regions of the country, with similar weather patterns expected to persist into the following day.
