Kavala secures €1 million for new photovoltaic plants

The Municipality of Kavala has secured one million euros in funding to install photovoltaic power plants aimed at powering local infrastructure. The project was approved by the Minister of Migration and Asylum, Athanasios Pleuris.

The initiative involves the construction of two photovoltaic stations, each with a nominal capacity of 250 kW, located near the municipal sewage treatment plant and the solid waste disposal site. These stations will be equipped with modern Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to ensure reliable energy supply for these critical facilities.

Funding for the project will be drawn from the Solidarity Fund. Once contracts are signed with the contractor, the installation and integration of the systems are expected to be completed within eight months.
