Kavalri Games designer launches horse-themed book series at Gothenburg Book Fair

The Gothenburg Book Fair features 'games' as a central theme this year, highlighting various forms of interactive storytelling and play.

Molly Ericson, a game designer and co-driver of the Stockholm-based independent developer Kavalri Games, is using the fair to preview her new book, 'Ryttarakademin'. Originally conceived as a video game, the project has transitioned into a book series aimed at young adults aged 15 to 18. The story, which draws inspiration from the atmosphere of Hogwarts, follows a character named Clara at an elite riding academy located in an old castle in Wales.

Ericson, who previously released the realistic horse simulation 'Equestrian – The game' in 2022, intends for the book series to be the first of four installments. The project aims to blend her experiences in equestrian training with narrative storytelling.
