Kavinsky's funeral set for August 12 in Paris
French DJ Kavinsky, real name Vincent Belorgey, was found dead at his Paris home on 28 July 2026 at age 50. Paris prosecutors opened an investigation, initially considering a possible stroke, but the cause of death remains undetermined.
His family announced that a religious ceremony will be held on Wednesday 12 August at 10:30 am in the Saint‑Pierre‑de‑Montmartre church in the 18th arrondissement, followed by burial at the Saint‑Vincent cemetery in Montmartre. The announcement was made on 7 August via a death notice in Le Figaro.
Kavinsky, known for the 2010 track “Nightcall,” gained international recognition after the song featured in the film *Drive* and performed at the Paris 2024 Olympic closing ceremony with Phoenix and a Belgian singer. Tributes have poured in from artists such as The Weeknd and Angèle.
