Kawanishi City announces 45th Ikko Dam Satoyama Fun Run

Kawanishi City in Hyogo Prefecture has announced the recruitment of participants for the 45th Kawanishi Ikko Dam Satoyama Fun Run, scheduled for November 15, 2026. The event will take place around the Ikko Dam and Chimei Lake areas.

Designed as a casual community event rather than a competitive race, the run aims to allow participants of all ages and genders to enjoy the autumn scenery of the Kurokawa district. The event features various categories, including 10km, 5km, 3km, and a 2km pair race for elementary school students and their guardians.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, the venue will host food trucks and appearances by local mascots, such as Kintakun. Participants may also receive prizes from sponsors and Kawanishi's sister city, Katori in Chiba Prefecture. Registration is open from August 14 to October 1, 2026, via the RUNTES website or the city's culture and sports department.
