Kawasaki and Chase Sexton part ways

Monster Energy Kawasaki has officially announced its separation from American rider Chase Sexton, effective October 23, 2026. The decision, described as a mutual agreement, ends a collaboration that was originally intended to last three seasons but concluded after just one year.

Sexton joined the factory Kawasaki team at the start of 2026 following his tenure with Red Bull KTM. Despite facing challenges and a season-ending ACL injury, he secured two Supercross victories in Anaheim and Salt Lake City.

The departure follows a period of instability for Kawasaki’s American program, which also saw Jorge Prado seek an exit after his first year. While Kawasaki's MXGP team has maintained success with riders like Romain Febvre, the US factory team has faced difficulties regarding bike character and rider compatibility. Sexton's future for the 2027 season remains unannounced.
