Kawasaki and Yokohama launch premium cashless voucher schemes
Kawasaki City introduced a premium digital voucher program allowing residents to purchase a ¥40,000 PayPay voucher for ¥52,000 in value, effectively gaining a ¥12,000 discount. The scheme supports up to three vouchers per household and reopened for a second round in late August after the first round closed.
In Yokohama’s Hodogaya‑ku, the local merchants’ association began selling a ¥10,000 "premium product voucher" worth ¥13,000 on August 1, limited to 1,200 sets. The vouchers can be used at participating small and large retailers, including supermarkets and service shops, and are valid through October 31. Purchases are restricted to Kanagawa residents, with a maximum of five sets per person.
