Kawasaki announces 2027 Ninja e-1 ABS electric motorcycle

Kawasaki has announced the return of the 2027 Ninja e-1 ABS to its electric vehicle lineup. The motorcycle is designed for urban commuting and features a brushless electric motor rated at 5.0 kW, which can reach a maximum of 9.0 kW when the e-boost function is engaged. This e-boost provides increased acceleration and top speeds for up to 15 seconds.

The bike utilizes two removable lithium-ion batteries in a parallel arrangement, allowing for continued operation in ECO mode even if one battery is discharged or isolated. Charging can be performed by removing the batteries or by using a pre-installed offboard charging adapter directly on the motorcycle. A full charge takes approximately 3.7 hours per battery, while a partial charge takes about 1.6 hours.

Technical specifications include a regenerative braking system to extend cruising range, a trellis frame, and a 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology app. The model also features a WALK mode to assist with maneuvering in parking lots. Despite price increases across many 2027 model-year sportbikes, the Ninja e-1 ABS maintains a base MSRP of $7,899.
