Kawasaki develops Kaleido 9 humanoid robot for industrial use

Kawasaki Heavy Industries is advancing its humanoid robot project, Kaleido, with the development of the Kaleido 9. Designed for industrial applications, the robot aims to navigate factories and warehouses autonomously to perform repetitive tasks, transport components, and support personnel.

The project, which has been in development since 2015, represents a decade of research into robotic mobility and assistance. Kawasaki intends to make the Kaleido robot commercially operational for businesses by 2030, moving beyond mere prototyping to provide concrete utility in manufacturing and emergency response scenarios.
