Kawhi Leonard and Darko Rajakovic reunite in Toronto

Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic and star player Kawhi Leonard shared an unexpected connection during a recent meeting. Rajakovic revealed that he was present in the San Antonio Spurs draft room in 2011 when the organization acquired the rights to Leonard by trading George Hill to the Indiana Pacers.

At the time, Rajakovic was serving as an international scout for the Spurs while coaching in Europe. Leonard noted that he had a vague memory of seeing Rajakovic during that period, as the coaching staff was frequently brought in by Gregg Popovich. The two men, who have since moved through various roles in the NBA, have now reunited in Toronto.
