Kawhi Leonard announces music project amid NBA investigation

During an offseason tour in Asia, NBA star Kawhi Leonard announced he has been working on music. Speaking from Hong Kong, Leonard teased a forthcoming collaboration with producer Top Barry, stating, “We’ve been working on some music out here as well, so stay tuned.”

This personal announcement comes amid an ongoing NBA investigation into Leonard’s endorsement dealings. The probe, which has lasted over 11 months, focuses on a $28 million deal with Aspiration, a green banking company formerly partially owned by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. The investigation also reportedly involves a deal with Daktronics. While the Clippers have denied wrongdoing, the NBA has disputed recent reporting by ESPN, claiming the outlet’s coverage contains “numerous and significant inaccuracies.”

The unresolved investigation has impacted Leonard’s professional status, with reports indicating a potential trade to the Toronto Raptors remains frozen until the matter is concluded. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has expressed a desire to resolve the inquiry before the 2026–27 season.
