Kaya Group acquires Barcelona's ME Hotel for over €100 million

Turkish hotel operator Kaya Group has completed the purchase of the five‑star ME Barcelona hotel for a price reported to exceed €100 million. The sale, announced by Crónica Global, transfers ownership from the developer Actual Capital, which built the property, to Kaya, a company with a portfolio of luxury hotels in Turkey, Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

Meliá Hotels International will remain the operator of the ME Barcelona, continuing to manage the 164‑room property that features a rooftop pool, spa, gym and extensive event spaces. The transaction is part of a broader upswing in Spanish hotel‑sector investment, which has seen several high‑value deals this year, including the €63 million sale of the Meliá Bilbao hotel.

The acquisition underscores Kaya’s strategy to expand its presence in prime European markets while keeping established brand operators in place to maintain service standards.
