KAYAK data shows group travel offers cost savings for US travelers

New data from KAYAK indicates that while 84% of American travelers experience group trips stalling in chat discussions without being booked, there are increasing financial incentives to travel in groups.

Vacation rental search data shows that the average price for rentals accommodating five or more people has decreased by 12% compared to last year, even as searches for such properties have risen by 20%. Travelers are utilizing group trips to mitigate rising costs, with 25% of respondents traveling in groups specifically to share expenses. Other strategies include opting for cheaper accommodations (31%) and more affordable destinations (36%).

In the United States, Las Vegas is identified as the lowest-priced destination for groups of five or more, with an average cost of $157 per person per night. Other value-driven destinations include Myrtle Beach and Nashville.
