Kayak festivals draw crowds in Bydgoszcz and Krościenko, Poland
A free 14.5‑km kayak run called “Kajakiem przez Gminę” was held on 20 June in the Bydgoszcz municipality. The event started at 11:00 at the Dębink North sluice and finished at the village square in Lisie Obo. Participants had to register by 15 June via email, and safety personnel, including a professional lifeguard and a kayaking instructor, were on site. The run was held alongside the II Gminny Zlot Motocyklowy, a local motorcycle gathering.
In Krościenko nad Dunajcem, the first day of the Kajak Festiwal featured a programme of regional music, cultural workshops and river activities. Performances included the folk group Baciary, the ensemble Pieniny and other local artists, while visitors could try kayaking, attend safety demonstrations and explore crafts such as weaving and pottery. The festival was supported by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Małopolskie regional authorities and numerous local sponsors, attracting both residents and tourists to the Pieniny region.
