Kayla Harrison recovers from neck surgery ahead of UFC 334 title defense
UFC women's bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison has provided a health update following major neck surgery. Speaking on the ‘Deep Waters’ podcast, Harrison revealed that the procedure was physically and mentally taxing, noting that she questioned whether she would ever feel like herself again.
This surgery was the most serious of four operations Harrison has undergone in the last four years. The neck procedure occurred shortly before she was expected to compete, following escalating pain.
Harrison is now preparing for her return at UFC 334, where she will defend her title against former champion Amanda Nunes in the co-main event. Harrison enters the bout as a betting favorite with a 19-1 professional record.
