Kayseri officials announce new tourism and infrastructure investments

Local authorities in Kayseri are launching several infrastructure and tourism development projects. In Gesi Mahallesi, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek and Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu conducted field inspections to address local needs. Key initiatives include resolving irrigation water shortages through collaboration with the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) and completing the renovation of the 44,000-square-meter Gesi Recreation Area. Additionally, a conservation-oriented zoning plan is being prepared to protect the area's historical and cultural values, with a tender scheduled for September 22.

In a separate development, Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar announced that the municipal council has approved drilling rights within a geothermal resource area in Bayramhacı. This project aims to leverage the region's geothermal potential and unique topography to establish Bayramhacı as a major thermal tourism destination. The municipality will work in cooperation with the Kayseri Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency (YİKOB) to manage the 3,000-hectare licensed area as part of a broader 'Green Transformation Comprehensive Strategic Tourism Project'.
