Kayseri hosts 6th International Half Marathon with 10,000 participants

The 6th International Kayseri Half Marathon, organized by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, drew 10,000 participants to the city. The event featured three categories: 21K, 10K, and a public run.

The marathon included 200 foreign athletes representing 22 different countries, including participants from Germany, the United States, and Australia. In the 21K category, Ali Kaya took first place in the men's general classification, while Nursena Çeto won the women's category. In the 10K category, Diyar Ergüven and Pınar Demir secured first place in the men's and women's divisions, respectively.

A total of 2,774,000 TL in prize money was distributed among the winners. During the event, Kayseri Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç consulted with Turkish Athletics Federation President Dr. Ahmet Karadağ regarding the potential transition of the event from a half marathon to a full marathon. The organization is part of Kayseri's efforts to strengthen its sports culture as it prepares for its designation as the 2029 World Sports Capital.
