Kayseri hosts World Sivaslılar Day celebration with Ebru Yaşar performance
On 5 August, Kayseri marked World Sivaslılar Day with a large public program at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Bahçesi. Thousands of citizens gathered for a cultural showcase that began with a performance by local artist Muzaffer Elitaş, followed by Sivas‑origin musician Ayaz Aydın playing regional songs.
A respect ceremony and the Turkish national anthem were observed before a folk troupe presented traditional zeybek and halay dances. The event’s highlight was a concert by popular singer Ebru Yaşar, whose songs were sung along by the audience, creating an unforgettable night. Speeches were delivered by Kayseri Sivaslı Dernekler Federasyonu President İsa Gün, who praised the historic ties between Sivas and Kayseri.
Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç and other protocol members attended, underscoring the city’s support for the celebration of Sivas’s cultural heritage.
