Kayseri mayor launches third-phase restoration of historic district for tourism

Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç inspected the third phase of the restoration work in the historic Kayseri neighbourhood. The project, overseen by the city's Department of History, Promotion and Tourism, aims to uncover and preserve the area's original architectural fabric while turning it into a new attraction for domestic and foreign visitors.

During the visit, the mayor met with department officials, the contractor’s representatives, local shop owners and a young couple taking wedding photographs in the restored streets. He emphasized that careful preservation of the historic texture will boost tourism, support the local economy and secure the cultural legacy for future generations.
