Kayseri Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç urges citizens to protect public parks and shared spaces

Kayseri Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç called on residents to show greater sensitivity toward public property after a rise in vandalism at parks, gardens and other communal areas. He described the damage – broken doors, smashed toilets, painted walls, cut futsal‑court nets and broken windows – as an assault on both municipal assets and social peace.

The mayor said the municipality is working with law‑enforcement agencies to identify and stop the perpetrators and asked citizens to report incidents through emergency line 112 or the municipal contact centre (Alo 153). He emphasized that protecting shared spaces is a collective investment in the city’s future and urged everyone to take responsibility for keeping Kayseri’s public amenities intact.
