Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality releases occupational health handbook

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has released a 60-page ‘Occupational Health and Safety Employee Handbook’ to increase awareness and safety standards among its staff. Developed by the Occupational Health and Safety Branch Directorate, the manual serves as a primary resource for the municipality’s ongoing training and field operations.

The handbook covers essential topics including basic safety concepts, hazard and risk identification, causes of work accidents, and prevention methods. It also provides practical guidance on the use of personal protective equipment, working at heights, and safety precautions when handling chemicals. To assist in emergency situations, the guide includes visual information regarding safety signs, color codes, emergency exits, and first aid markings.

Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç emphasized that employee health and safety are top priorities for the municipality, noting that creating a safe working environment through education and awareness is a fundamental institutional responsibility.
