Kayseri opens park named after late Melikgazi official Mustafa Tümgüç
A new park named after Mustafa Tümgüç, the former Private Secretary of Melikgazi Municipality, has been officially opened in the Hunat Neighborhood of Kayseri. Tümgüç lost his life following a bicycle accident while descending from Mount Erciyes.
The opening ceremony was attended by Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu, AK Party Kayseri Deputy and Chairman of the TBMM National Defense Commission Hulusi Akar, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Murat Cahid Cıngı, and the family of the deceased. During the event, Mayor Palancıoğlu delivered an emotional speech, noting that he had worked closely with Tümgüç on the park's design and procurement processes.
Mayor Palancıoğlu highlighted the municipality's extensive urban development efforts, stating that Melikgazi has constructed 365 parks over the last seven years, covering an area three times larger than the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Bahçesi. He also noted ongoing projects involving schools, libraries, and the restoration of historical structures in the city center.
