Kayseri ranks third in Turkey for library attendance
Kayseri has ranked third in Turkey for library attendance, according to data released by the magazine Nihayet. Istanbul holds the first position, followed by Batman in second place, and Kayseri with 2,192,825 visitors.
Under the leadership of Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, the city has expanded its educational infrastructure, adding 10 new libraries since 2020. Between 2020 and 2025, the municipality's libraries recorded a total of 10,534,233 visits. In the first eight months of 2026 alone, the 15 municipal libraries hosted 1,734,682 visitors and facilitated the lending of over 250,000 books.
The municipal library system currently serves 403,431 members. These facilities have evolved into multi-functional community centers offering free internet, computer services, photocopying, and specialized study areas. Amenities include quiet study zones, chess corners, and automated food and beverage services to support students and researchers.
