Kayseri to host 5th International Ashik Festival

The 5th International Ashik Festival will be held in Kayseri, hosted by the Kayseri Governorship and the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at 19:30 in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Bahçesi Small Event Area.

As the designated 2027 Turkic World Capital of Culture, Kayseri aims to showcase its cultural heritage through this festival, which focuses on the 'ashik' tradition—a vital carrier of Turkish folk culture involving oral tradition, folk poetry, and the saz musical instrument.

The festival will feature performers from various regions of Turkey as well as international artists from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, including Nargile Mehtiyeva, Tumar Nurakova, and Malika Aldamzharova.
