Kayseri university students launch hygiene education program for children
University students in Kayseri, members of the Mavi Pusula Çocuk Hakları Kulübü (Blue Compass Child Rights Club), have launched a community initiative to provide hygiene and social awareness training to primary school students.
Comprising a multidisciplinary team of dietitians, physiotherapists, and nurses from the Faculty of Health Sciences, the group visits local schools to teach practical habits such as proper handwashing and tooth brushing. To maintain engagement, students also use clown costumes to entertain children during the sessions.
Club President Hayal Yaşarer stated that the initiative aims to reinforce hygiene habits started at home by bringing them into a formal school environment. Future plans for the bi-weekly program include lessons on privacy, peer bullying prevention, and social etiquette.
