Turkey and Uzbekistan sign five agreements to boost trade and social security

During the 13th Organization of Turkic States Summit in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed five agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation. The agreements cover trade, social security, and business support.

Key economic measures include a protocol to amend the Preferential Trade Agreement to expand market access and an additional protocol regarding the exchange of advance information on vehicles and goods crossing borders to expedite customs processes. To further support the private sector, the leaders agreed to establish a High-Level Business and Investment Council, which will be chaired by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

In the social sector, the two nations signed a Social Security Agreement and a corresponding administrative agreement to define its implementation. These steps are part of a broader strategic goal to increase bilateral trade volume from approximately 3.1 billion USD in 2025 to a target of 5 billion USD.
