Kazakhstan expands bilateral cooperation with Switzerland and Saudi Arabia
Kazakhstan has entered into new agreements with Switzerland and Saudi Arabia to strengthen economic and institutional ties.
During a business forum in Zurich, Kazakhstan and Switzerland signed memorandums of cooperation valued at approximately $46 million. These agreements, reached during a visit by Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev, cover trade, manufacturing, and commercial real estate. Additionally, the Swiss-Kazakh Cultural and Business Center has opened in Schaffhausen to facilitate trade and cultural exchange. Discussions also highlighted the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or Middle Corridor, for connecting Europe and Asia.
In a separate development, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation on integrity and anti-corruption efforts. The agreement, signed by Nazaha President Mazin Al-Kahmous and Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee Chairman Yermek Sagimbayev, establishes a framework for exchanging information on cross-border corruption and strengthening institutional capacities. This move builds upon existing bilateral relations in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, and investment.
