Kazakhstan is actively rerouting its crude oil exports following disruptions to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system. The Ministry of Energy confirmed that Ukrainian drone attacks on infrastructure linked to the CPC, which handles approximately 80% of Kazakhstan's exports, have impacted shipments through the Russian port of Novorossiysk.

To mitigate these disruptions, Kazakhstan has increased oil shipments via the Atyrau-Samara route to Russia and expanded supplies to China. Additionally, the government is exploring long-term diversification through southern corridors. This includes utilizing the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa pipelines, as well as transit across the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has expressed readiness to increase its annual intake of Kazakh oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan link to 2.2 million metric tons.

Parallel to energy shifts, Kazakhstan is expanding its broader transport infrastructure to bolster the Middle Corridor. Port Kuryk reported significant throughput in the first half of 2026, and the government aims to reach 55 million tons of transit cargo by the end of the year through rail modernization and new highway projects.
