Kazakhstan marks 35 years of independence

Kazakhstan is celebrating its 35th anniversary of independence, marking its evolution into Central Asia's largest economy and a significant energy and logistics partner for the European Union.

In Sofia, the Kazakh Embassy hosted a formal banquet and concert at the Central Military Club to commemorate the occasion. Ambassador Viktor Temirbaev highlighted the country's ongoing transformations under President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting that the adoption of a new Constitution serves as a foundation for modernizing the political system and strengthening citizen rights.

The nation's development has been characterized by a multi-vector foreign policy, maintaining constructive relations with the EU, China, Russia, and the US. Kazakhstan has also held leadership roles in various international organizations, including the OSCE and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
