On September 24, 2026, sudden weather deterioration and high winds caused approximately 17 to 19 soldiers to be swept into the sea while they were disembarking from the military vessel ‘Qaisar’ in shallow water.

Reports on the death toll vary, with some sources confirming 14 fatalities and others reporting 9. At least three soldiers were successfully rescued.
