MidOcean Energy joins LNG Canada Phase 2; SLB OneSubsea wins Mozambique contract

MidOcean Energy, an LNG company managed by EIG, has announced its participation in Phase 2 of the LNG Canada project. This follows a final investment decision made by the joint venture partners. MidOcean’s involvement follows its planned December 2025 acquisition of 20% stakes in the North Montney Upstream Joint Venture and the North Montney LNG Limited Partnership. Phase 2 aims to add two liquefaction lines at the Kitimat facility in British Columbia, increasing production capacity from 14 to 28 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

Separately, SLB’s OneSubsea joint venture has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Mozambique, on behalf of the Area 4 partners, to provide subsea production systems for the first phase of the offshore Rovuma LNG project. The contract includes the delivery of subsea trees, manifolds, umbilicals, and control systems. To support the project, SLB OneSubsea intends to establish a services base in Mozambique to foster local training, employment, and regional supply chain development.
