Kazakhstan schedules Astana forum on enhanced oil recovery methods

Kazakhstan will host an international forum on enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technologies in Astana from August 26 to 28, 2026. Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, the three‑day event will bring together government officials, oil and gas companies, scientists and experts from Kazakhstan, Europe, the Middle East, China, the United States and other countries.

The agenda includes sessions on advanced gas, chemical, thermal and combined EOR methods, digitalisation of oil production, localisation of equipment and chemicals, and improvements to the regulatory framework. Participants are expected to sign the Astana Declaration and a roadmap outlining EOR development plans for 2027‑2030, aiming to boost recovery rates from mature fields and strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors.
